Shah Rukh Khan, one of Bollywood’s most well-known stars, received the first Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award at the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair (SBIF). Fans had been lining up to see Khan at 12 o’clock, chanting his name as they entered the theatre. Khan, who was wearing a black suit, collected the honour from Khawla Al Mujaini, SIBF’s general coordinator, and Ahmed Al Ameri, chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority.
His beautiful gesture is something which makes him King Khan and he proved the same recently at the award ceremony, “I think one of the greatest feelings I have that people love you so much, lots of people like my XYZ film but I think the love I get is beyond my work. I don’t think I need to get nervous, all my films are going to be super hit now. I would like to explain the lack of arrogance in the statement that’s the belief I sleep with that’s the belief I wake up with and no I’m not nervous at all I am actually very excited if I’ll take my name in the third person to see SRK on screen again.”
From his very first movie, Deewana in 1992, Khan established himself as the master of romance, showing an entire generation through a string of blockbusters like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Devdas, and My Name is Khan that love triumphs over all odds. Khan will also act alongside Deepika Padukone in the much anticipated Pathaan, which will be released on January 25, 2023 and is directed by Siddharth Anand.
