It’s a treat for Spider-Man fans as the animated version of the superhero is set to return to the big screen in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.” The film’s trailer reveals that Miles Morales from Brooklyn, New York City, will join forces with Gwen Stacy to embark on a multiverse adventure where they encounter some old friends and new heroes. Additionally, the trailer shows a cameo appearance by Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, swinging through the streets of Mumbai.
The film, directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K Thompson, is written by Oscar winners Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. It features a star-studded cast, including Shameik Moore as Miles, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099. Karan Soni will be voicing the Indian Spider-Man.
The trailer also reveals a direct reference to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), as Tom’s Spider-Man and Doctor Strange are told off for messing with the multiverse. The film is set to be released in India in 10 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam on June 2, and it will clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Jawan” starring Nayanthara.
“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” promises to be an action-packed adventure that will have audiences on the edge of their seats, with a tough decision facing Miles Morales as he is forced to choose between saving someone he loves or saving humanity.
