Nitesh Tiwari is one of the most interesting storytellers in Bollywood. Two of his films, Aamir Khan’s Dangal and the multi-starrer Chhichhore were really successful both critically and commercially. As Nitesh is currently gearing up for the release of his film Bawaal, he has already started working on his next project. His next film is an adaptation of the epic Ramayana.
The project, which will be produced by Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra, will star some big names like Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Kannada superstar Yash. Now, according to media reports, the makers are planning a test shoot of the film with its cast. Earlier, Madhu had confirmed that the shooting will kickstart in the last quarter of this year.
A source said that the pre-production of the film has started and the team is working on look tests, set designing, visual effects and other things. The construction of a small set in Filmcity has already started. The source revealed that the test shoot is planned for the end of July, around July 28. But it’s unclear which actor will show up first.
Nitesh Tiwari Is Unperturbed By Adipurush’s Failure
Last month, Om Raut’s Adipurush was released. The film was also based on the Hindu epic Ramayana but met with poor critical and audience response. It was criticised for its tacky visual effects, horrible dialogues, weak acting and an overall bad screenplay. Despite the strong marketing and a good opening, Adipurush failed to perform well at the box office. The makers were also called out for deviating from the source material. Nitesh Tiwari had said that he is unbothered by its failure as he is trying his best to tell the story in the most authentic way possible. He also said that he is confident that he won’t offend anyone.
