Obsession India Box Office: Michael Johnston And Inde Navarrette’s Horror Hit Ends Third Week At Rs 84.60 Crore Gross

Obsession continued its strong India run through the end of week three, closing its 21-day stretch at Rs. 84.60 crore gross. The Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette-led horror title added Rs. 1.65 crore gross on third Thursday, capping a week that brought in Rs. 25.60 crore gross and reinforcing its status as one of the steadiest genre performers in cinemas right now.

The latest weekly trend is especially notable because the film dipped just 30 per cent from the previous week, a healthy hold for a horror release that is now running on sustained audience interest rather than opening-weekend curiosity. After a solid first week of Rs. 21.85 crore gross, the film stayed in the conversation with strong weekend spikes and stable weekday business, helping it build momentum across three full weeks.

Third Week Numbers Keep Obsession Marching Ahead

The third-week breakdown shows why the film remains firmly in the race for a bigger finish. Obsession collected Rs. 4 crore on Friday, Rs. 7 crore on Saturday and Rs. 6.75 crore on Sunday before settling into weekday numbers of Rs. 2.10 crore, Rs. 2.25 crore, Rs. 1.85 crore and Rs. 1.65 crore. That pattern points to a film that is still drawing crowds beyond its core horror audience.

What stands out is the consistency. Instead of fading sharply after the second weekend, Obsession kept enough pace on regular working days to protect its overall total. For a film in this genre, that kind of hold often makes the difference between a respectable run and a breakout one. At Rs. 84.60 crore gross, it has already turned its theatrical run into a significant India success story.

Rs 100 Crore Is Now The Big Milestone In Sight

With three weeks behind it and momentum still intact, Obsession is now moving toward the Rs. 100 crore gross mark in India. The current trajectory also puts it in line to overtake Project Hail Mary if collections continue at this level over the coming days. That adds another layer of intrigue to its box office journey, especially in a market where holdover strength often matters as much as an opening splash.

The film has benefited from the kind of week-on-week stability that keeps screens secure and helps late audiences catch up in theatres. Its weekend jumps followed by decent weekday retention suggest that audience reception has remained favorable through the run. If that pattern continues into the next frame, the march toward nine figures looks increasingly realistic.

Directed by Curry Barker, Obsession stars Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette alongside Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Andy Richter. The horror film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025 and was released in the United States on May 15, 2026. Backed by Blumhouse and released by Focus Features in the US, the film follows a young music store employee whose wish for love takes a terrifying turn.
