Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have slipped straight into the creepy, offbeat world of Obsession, and JioHotstar is making sure audiences notice before the film lands on the platform. In a freshly unveiled promo, the two stars recreate one of the horror film’s most iconic scenes in Hindi, with Amar Kaushik joining the setup and turning the clip into an easy reunion moment for fans of the trio.
JioHotstar’s own post set the tone for the campaign: “Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan, with Amar Kaushik, have been cooking up something we’re just a little obsessed with. Obsession: The Original Uncut Version streams 30th October, 7 PM onwards, exclusively on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar.” The uncut original version of Obsession premieres on October 30 at 7 PM in both English and Hindi.
Varun, Kriti And Amar Kaushik Recreate A Key Obsession Scene
The new video places Kriti and Varun in a restaurant-style setting as they perform the unsettling exchange that became one of the film’s signature moments. Kriti captures Nikki’s eerie stillness, while Varun leans into Bear’s nervous discomfort, giving the Hindi recreation a strong performance hook instead of playing it as a straightforward dubbing plug.
Amar Kaushik’s presence adds another layer to the promo. Having previously directed Varun and Kriti in Bhediya, he brings an instantly recognisable chemistry to the setup. That familiarity gives the clip a playful edge even as it stays rooted in the original scene’s disturbing tone.
Obsession Arrives On Jiohotstar On October 30
The streamer has positioned the launch around the uncut version of the film, which will begin streaming on The Peacock Hub on JioHotstar from 7 PM on October 30. For Indian audiences, the dual-language release gives Obsession a wider entry point, especially with two prominent Hindi film stars fronting the dubbed version.
Directed by Curry Barker, Obsession stars Inde Navarrette and Michael Johnston in its original version. The film is a horror title built around a dark, escalating premise, and its latest India-facing push keeps the emphasis on the original cut while using the Hindi voice cast to build momentum right before release.
Varun Dhawan And Kriti Sanon’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Varun Dhawan has remained active across both theatrical and streaming projects. His recent releases include Bawaal in 2023, Baby John in 2024 and the streaming series Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024. He was last seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Hai Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai.
Kriti Sanon, meanwhile, has balanced commercial theatrical outings with a major OTT title. Her recent releases include Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya in 2024, Crew in 2024 and the Netflix film Do Patti in 2024. She starred in Tere Ishk Mein in 2025 and Cocktail 2 in 2026. Their Obsession promo, then, arrives with both actors already in a highly visible phase, and that visibility gives the JioHotstar campaign immediate mainstream pull.
