Om Raut’s action film Adipurush starring Kartik Aaryan has only been postponed and not shelved. After the huge success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, the Director was supposed to start shooting for an action film with Kartik. The sets of the film was at such a location where traveling wasn’t possible due to the Covid-19 situation. Hence, the shooting had to be delayed.
Om Raut told a news portal about how in February last year, he came to know that due to the pandemic, the team won’t be able to travel to the country where his film with Kartik Aaryan was to be shot. The Director was quoted saying, “There were too many things that happened. The film with Kartik Aaryan was set up in a place where we could no longer travel. The country is out of bounds now. It’s not that my plans changed due to the lockdown. Around February, I knew we won’t be able to travel to that city because of the COVID situation. It’s a difficult film to make, and I am still very excited about it,”.
He also mentioned that the shoot of the film is only delayed and he will go back to shooting whenever he gets the opportunity. “Whenever I get a chance, I will get on with it. The film has not been shelved, only deferred for now. The lockdown was a downer for everyone, but it somehow worked for me. I got ample time with my family and I clocked in over 14 hours of work every day. I had a chance to revisit my old scripts and story dockets. Adipurush is one of the stories that I had worked on a while back. I pulled it out, and during the lockdown, I completed the script and the screenplay,” he added.
During the late lockdown the actor got the opportunity to complete his script and screenplay for the film. The movie features Saif Ali Khan, Prabhas and Kartik Aaryan in pivotal roles. And is produced by Bhushan Kumar.
