OMG 2’s ‘A’ Certification Disappoints Akshay Kumar said ‘This is the first adult film which is made for teenagers’

OMG 2, featuring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam, has made its debut in theaters. The storyline centers around a regular man portrayed by Pankaj Tripathi, who assumes the role of a father striving for justice for his son. Guiding him through challenges is Akshay Kumar’s character, who serves as a messenger of God and acts as a crucial mentor. However, the film’s ‘A’ certification from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) has left the cast disappointed, particularly Akshay, who is also the movie’s producer.

OMG 2 Star Akshay Kumar Unhappy with ‘A’ Certification

After the movie release, Akshay Kumar went to a theater in Mumbai to surprise the people watching OMG 2. A video of this got really popular on Reddit, where he talked about feeling unhappy about the movie being rated ‘A’ for adults by the CBFC. Box office collection of OMG 2

On its opening day, the movie OMG 2, featuring Akshay Kumar, managed to make a decent start. Due to the expected clash with Gadar 2, it struggled to generate significant revenue and received limited attention in single-screen theaters. However, it found success in urban multiplexes, which helped contribute to a respectable day one earnings of 10.26 crore net.

For the film to capitalize on the national holiday on Tuesday, it required substantial growth over the weekend. Remarkably, this is precisely what unfolded on the second day, with the film experiencing a remarkable 75% surge in collections on Saturday.

Cinepolis alone contributed 98 lakhs net on the first day, and today’s projections are set to surpass 1.75 crore net. The film is anticipated to amass around 15.30 crore on the second day, propelling its total to 25.56 crore net. With a projected weekend total of over 44 crore net, the film is poised to make optimal use of the 15th August national holiday.
