Dinesh Vijan‘s production company recently unveiled its lineup of 15 films on Tuesday, which included sequels to the popular movies Stree (2018), Bhediya (2022), and Shiddat (2021). Additionally, they announced several new projects such as Murder Mubarak, Chhava, Happy Teachers’ Day, and an upcoming romantic comedy starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, which is yet to be titled. However, it seems that shortly after the announcement of Shiddat 2, there have been changes in the casting. Reports suggest that the lead actress, Parineeti Chopra, is no longer a part of the romantic drama, where she was initially set to share the screen with Sunny Kaushal.
According to sources, the reason behind this change in casting can be attributed to scheduling conflicts. It is reported that the directorial project by Karan Sharma was initially planned to commence filming in August. However, due to unforeseen technical delays, the production has been rescheduled for October-November. Unfortunately, during that time frame, Parineeti Chopra has prior commitments with two other projects that are yet to be titled. There are also rumors circulating that Chopra and Raghav Chadha, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, who got engaged in May, are considering tying the knot towards the end of October, with the festivities extending into November. Considering the potential additional costs associated with rescheduling and the wedding break, both Parineeti and Dinesh Vijan mutually agreed that it would be best to proceed with another actress for this particular film.
The question arises as to who will portray the love interest of Sunny Kaushal in the upcoming film. According to reports, the producer has initiated discussions with Wamiqa Gabbi, who gained attention from filmmakers after her successful film Jubilee. It is said that the actress is highly impressed with the script. Another source reveals that the team is facing a tight timeline if they want to begin filming in October.

Wamiqa To Lead Shiddat 2
They have plans for an extensive shooting schedule in Europe, and the styling team requires more than a month to finalize costumes and conduct fittings for the female lead. As the conversation with Wamiqa only commenced this week, the formal contract has not yet been finalized. Kunal Deshmukh’s directorial venture, Shiddat, revolved around a passionate love story that focused on a young couple portrayed by Sunny Kaushal and Radhika Madan. Despite attempts to contact Parineeti Chopra’s team and producer Dinesh Vijan, there has been no response from them as of the time of this press release.
