In a recent interview, Sunita Ahuja (the wife of actor Govinda) shared her wish for her husband and Salman Khan to reunite for the sequel to their hit 2007 film Partner.
The romantic comedy, directed by David Dhawan, was a big success and also starred Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif. After the film’s success, there were talks about a sequel, but it was eventually put on hold.
Sunita Ahuja On If Govinda & Salman Khan Should Reunite For Partner 2
Speaking with Hindi Rush, Sunita said, “Karenge toh acha he hai, public ne pasand toh kiya he tha dono ko.” She highlighted how the audience enjoyed their chemistry and added that it would be wonderful if Govinda and Salman came together again for Partner 2.
For those who may not remember, Partner was a fun comedy produced by Sohail Khan and Parag Sanghvi. In the film, Salman played Prem, while Govinda portrayed Diwakar Chaudhary. Their performances were popular, contributing to the film’s success.
Salman Confirmed Partner 2 Won’t Happen Without Right Script
Talks of a sequel started after Partner’s popularity. However, in 2012, Salman confirmed that Partner 2 was delayed. He explained, “We were supposed to start Partner 2 around August-September last year. But we couldn’t start as the right script didn’t come along. So we kicked off Ek Tha Tiger. We have put Partner 2 on hold until we get a proper script.”
At the moment, there is no official update on when Partner 2 might happen. However, Sunita’s recent comments have reignited interest in the potential reunion between Salman and Govinda.
While Partner 2 remains uncertain, Salman Khan is working on other projects. He will star in Sikandar, a film directed by AR Murugadoss. The teaser for the movie was recently shared on social media, and it is expected to release during Eid 2025.
