Yo Yo Honey Singh had a successful, if controversial, reign at the top of the charts until his diagnosis with bipolar disorder and battle with depression. As he tries to return to the music scene, he has said that relationships he forged with top stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Saalman Khan have left him in good stead.
In a podcast with Raj Shamani, Honey Singh that he doesn’t have any friends, but he does have ‘mentors and godbrothers’. “Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and even Amitabh Bachchan, he is like my godfather.”
He also spoke about working with Shah Rukh Khan, and how the star gave him important advice. “Around 10 years back, he asked me how do you work. I said that from my heart. He told me SRK, AR Rahman, Gulzar and Mani Ratnam made a film ‘Dil Se’ (from the heart) but it flopped. He told me that once in a while you also have to work using your mind. That’s when I decided that while I will use my heart while making the audio, I will use my mind when packaging it.”
It seems superstar Shah Rukh Khan predicted in advance about his plans for actions film and he nailed it with ‘Pathaan’ which became biggest blockbuster ever beating all records.
