Ayushmann Khurrana is stepping into full comic disorder again, and this time the confusion comes with triple the pressure. The teaser of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is now out, unveiling Khurrana as Prajapati Pandey, a man whose life spins out of control as he gets entangled with three women played by Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh. Framed as a return to the world of “patis”, the promo revives the familiar pati patni aur woh setup while pushing it into a broader, more chaotic ensemble comedy.
The teaser keeps the pace brisk and the tension playful, dropping Prajapati into one awkward situation after another as his carefully balanced life begins to crack. Vijay Raaz joins the madness as a cop, adding another source of pressure to a story built on romantic overlap, panic and escalating misunderstandings.
Teaser Confirms Cast, Release Date And Franchise Twist
Backed by T-Series and B R Studios, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is directed by Mudassar Aziz and is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 15, 2026. The film’s latest promotional material identifies Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh as the central quartet, with Vijay Raaz also featuring in a key role. The producers are Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra and Krishan Kumar, while Juno Chopra is credited as creative producer.
The promo also makes the franchise intent unmistakable. Rather than simply revisiting the 2019 relationship comedy template, this film expands the emotional grid around Prajapati Pandey and turns his dilemma into a larger comedy of errors. The nostalgia is there, but the teaser sells a newer hook, one man caught in a far more crowded romantic crisis.
Prajapati Pandey Faces A Fresh Spiral Of Romantic Mayhem
Set in Prayagraj, the film centres on a marriage that begins to unravel after one choice sparks suspicion, crossed signals and a rapidly worsening chain of comic deception. The teaser does not overexplain the mechanics of the plot, but it makes its tone clear. This is a fast-moving entertainer driven by confusion, emotional evasions and the pressure of keeping too many secrets alive at once.
That pitch also fits neatly into Khurrana’s current screen space, where high-concept characters and heightened comic situations have increasingly become a key part of his mainstream appeal.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Ayushmann Khurrana’s last theatrical release was Thamma in 2024 which was average at box office. Dream Girl 2 was his last clean hit in 2023, in which he reprised his role as Karam alongside Ananya Panday. The film emerged as a commercial success and reaffirmed his hold on broad comedy. Before that, he starred in Anek and Doctor G in 2022, with the latter releasing in theatres and pairing him with Rakul Preet Singh. He is also shooting for Sooraj Barjataya’s next opposite Sharvari Wagh and waiting for release of Udta Teer opposite Sara Ali Khan.
As of April 2026, his confirmed upcoming theatrical release is Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. With this teaser, Khurrana is once again leaning into high-concept mainstream entertainers, returning to the space where his flustered everyman energy often works best.
