Power Star Pawan Kalyan has set the box office on fire with his latest release, They Call Him OG. The action entertainer has completed its first week in theatres with phenomenal numbers and is showing no signs of slowing down. The film has been declared a HIT and is now marching towards the huge milestone of ₹250 crore at the worldwide box office.
After seven days, the film’s total worldwide collection stands at a massive ₹245.50 crore. The movie is performing exceptionally well not just in India, but also in overseas markets, where it has collected over ₹60 crore.
OG’s Impressive First Week Collections
The film has passed the crucial weekday test with flying colours. On its seventh day (Wednesday), They Call Him OG collected approximately ₹8.25 crore in India, bringing its total domestic gross to ₹185 crore. In the key Telugu states, the film saw a drop of only around 10% from Tuesday, which is a very strong hold. The collections in the Nizam region have been particularly rock-steady, remaining on par with Monday and Tuesday’s numbers.
Today, October 2nd, is a big holiday, which is expected to give the collections another major boost. While it faces some competition from the newly released Kantara prequel, the holiday advantage should ensure another big day for OG.
A Certified HIT With A Bright Future
The film is already a certified HIT, and its strong performance has kept it on track to cross the ₹200 crore mark in India alone, which would be a fantastic result. While there have been reports about distributors in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana facing losses, the trade analysts suggest this is due to the extremely high prices they paid for the rights, and not a reflection of the film’s actual, successful performance at the box office.
