EXCLUSIVE: Bhushan Kumar’s Spirit Pushed From March 2027, Prabhas And Sandeep Reddy Vanga Film To Arrive Later

Prabhas’ packed release calendar has triggered a fresh reshuffle, and Spirit is the latest major title feeling the impact. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Bhushan Kumar’s Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and fronted by Prabhas, has been pushed from March 2027 and will now arrive later in the year.

Spirit Moves Beyond Its Earlier March 2027 Date

A source close to production said, “Film will not be able to make it to cinemas on March 5. The specific reasons behind delay is yet unknown. But makers are looking for another suitable date which justifies a big film.”

The March 5, 2027 release date carried serious weight because it had already positioned Spirit as one of the biggest Indian theatrical events on the 2027 calendar. The combination of Prabhas, Vanga, T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures had given the project instant scale, and the date itself had become part of that early positioning.

The revised plan now opens up a new release window for a film that has been tracked closely since its announcement. The makers have not unveiled a fresh date yet, but the shift is significant because Spirit is not just another star vehicle. It is one of the most watched collaborations currently in the pipeline.

A Major Pan India Project

Spirit is being backed by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series in association with Bhadrakali Pictures, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga writing, editing and directing the film. The project has been mounted as a multilingual action drama and has been widely positioned as a large-scale theatrical event. It has also been presented as Prabhas’ 25th feature, giving the film added significance within the star’s career.

The film’s central appeal lies in the pairing itself. Vanga, coming off the huge success of Animal, joining forces with Prabhas instantly turned Spirit into one of the most closely watched combinations in Indian cinema.

What The Shift Means For Prabhas’ Slate

For Prabhas, the delay reshapes the rhythm of his release pipeline without reducing the film’s scale. A later 2027 arrival gives Spirit more breathing room and allows the makers to position it as a cleaner standalone theatrical event. That matters even more with a film mounted on this kind of scale, where release timing can shape both audience build-up and market momentum.

It also means Spirit now sits as a later chapter in a phase where Prabhas is leaning heavily into large-format theatrical cinema, with each project carrying franchise or event-film expectations.

Prabhas’ Recent And Upcoming Work

Prabhas was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD in 2024, a major theatrical success that reinforced his standing in the pan India market. Before that came Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire in 2023, another strong theatrical performer, while Adipurush, also released in 2023, had a far more mixed run. That recent record gives Spirit added weight, especially as it brings together a star still commanding scale and a filmmaker coming off a major blockbuster.

Looking ahead, Prabhas is also attached to The Raja Saab, Fauji, Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 and Salaar Part 2, keeping his next phase firmly rooted in high-visibility theatrical projects.

SPIRIT is being crafted as a large-scale pan-world entertainer and is set to release in 8 languages.

Gulshan Kumar & T-Series present SPIRIT, a T-Series Films and Bhadrakali Pictures production. Written, edited, and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar, and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga.
