After YouTuber Hindustani Bhau filed a police case against Ekta Kapoor and mother Shobha Kapoor for showing the Indian Army in a bad light, the filmmaker reserved a lot of backlash from the audience.
It all started over a scene in one of the episodes from her web series XXX Uncensored Season 2.
However, the scene was blurred later and Ekta issued a clarification and apology on the same.
Now the Ministry of Defence has written to the Central Board of Film Certification to ask producers to take a NOC from them before telecasting any content around the Indian Army.
The letter was marked to the Information and Technology, and the Information and Broadcasting ministries was issued to the CBFC.
The subject of the letter read, “Depiction Of Indian Army Personnel and Military uniform in a distorted manner in XXX Uncensored (Season 2) web series.”
Well even if CBFC functions under the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. There is no specific body to regulate the digital content.
Now the streaming companies are planning to put in a regulatory code for the content despite misgivings within the industry.
