Earlier, the upcoming movie starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, was supposed to be directed by debutante Amit Joshi. However, now it’s helmed by Dinesh Varjan after Shahid’s budget has been reportedly resolved. Varjan’s next is Varun, Kriti starrer “Bhediya”.
The latest bollywood news is that the robot rom com is placed against the backdrop of Indian culture and tradition. Shahid will play as a robot specialist, and Kriti, on the other hand, as a robot. It is inspired by the Life Ok sci-fi drama Bahu Hamari Rajinikanth and the 2014 Hollywood film Ex Machina.
“The film has finally taken off, and will begin soon. The issue came up due to Shahid Kapoor’s fees. The actor had quoted Rs. 30 cr. as his remuneration. However, now he has slashed his price down to Rs. 14 cr. This in itself has considerably lowered the overall budget,” Bollywood Hungama quoted its source as saying.
Its source added, “Shahid has for now settled with Rs. 14 cr. as his base price remuneration, but the rider is that he will receive a certain percentage of profits if the box office business of the venture crosses a certain threshold amount.” Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films is yet to make a formal announcement in this regard.
