The makers of Pushpa 2 decided to part ways with choreographer Jani Master amid serious allegations of sexual assault against him.
Jani Master, who was set to choreograph a special dance number for the film, has been removed from the project following a complaint from a young female colleague.
Pushpa 2 Makers Replace Jani Master With A New Choreographer
Producer Naveen Yerneni confirmed the news to ETV Bharat during a recent media interaction. He shared, “We have already changed the choreographer. We are shooting the song with another choreographer. The shoot will also start from November 4.”
On October 24, Jani Master was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court. However, the court imposed certain conditions on his bail, instructing him to avoid any interference in the victim’s life. He must also stay in contact with the investigating authorities as they look into the case.
Sexual Assault Allegations Against The Choreographer
The allegations against Jani Master are serious. He was arrested in Goa after a complaint from his 21-year-old colleague, who accused him of sexual abuse over an extended period.
Reports indicate that the alleged assaults occurred when she was a minor, resulting in charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Additionally, he faces charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt).
The victim has alleged that Jani Master assaulted her multiple times during their shoots across different cities. She further claimed that some incidents occurred at his residence in Narsingi. The disturbing nature of these allegations has understandably garnered significant media attention and public outrage.
Producers of Pushpa 2 are taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their cast and crew.
Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, continues to generate buzz ahead of its release. Recently, makers confirmed that the film will arrive in theatres on Dec 5, a day earlier than expected.
