After Baahubali parts 1 and 2 stormed the country, it was Pushpa: The Rise’s turn to set the nation on fire. The Sukumar-directed 2021 film grossed ₹373 crore on a ₹170 crore budget. Allu Arjun’s looks and style were liked and cosplayed multiple times as everyone went crazy over the film. Moreover, the songs of the film, from Srivalli to Saami were also a major hit all over.
Now, there’s major anticipation for the sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The teaser video and poster released by the makers for Allu Arjun’s birthday reignited the conversation around the film on social media. As such, fans want to know when the film will release and finally, there’s information about it.
Pushpa 2 Won’t Be Releasing At Christmas 2023
Pushpa 2 isn’t going to be released before May 2024. Fans of Allu Arjun, as well as the first film, will be disheartened to know about this delay, but there’s a reason behind this. As per a source, it’s because Sukumar wants to ensure that the final film does justice to the hype created by the first one. Pinkvilla stated:
“Sukumar is known for his perfection and he is leaving no stone unturned to bring the best cinematic experience for the audience on the big screen. Hence, there is no chance that Pushpa 2 can be released in December 2023. Sukumar doesn’t want to rush to complete the shoot, so the makers are eyeing to release in May 2024 or after. The release window currently decided is between May and July. But there is no way it is releasing before May.”
Pushpa 1 was released on 17 December 2021, so a release date between May to July for the sequel means that the film is targeting a summer release. However, irrespective of when the film comes, it’s going to set the box office alight. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna in major roles.
What’s Next For Allu Arjun After Pushpa 2?
Apart from Pushpa 2, the pan-India star recently announced his new project with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and producer Bhushan Kumar. A Pinkvilla source revealed:
“The film will take a couple of years to take off as Sandeep Vanga has Animal with Ranbir Kapoor and Spirit with Prabhas to complete before he kickstarts the film with AA.”
Apart from this, it’s rumored that Allu Arjun is in talks to star in Aditya Dhar’s The Immortal Ashwatthama. Nothing has been finalized as of yet, but fans of the Icon star will surely love to see him step into the film that has a rumored budget of about ₹600 crores. It remains to be seen what decision he takes on this.
