The much-anticipated clash between Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa The Rule and Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again seems to have hit a speed bump. The latest update regarding the release of Singham Again has now arrived. It was originally slated to hit the screens on August 15, 2024.
Sources close to the production told Bollywood Hungama that despite relentless efforts from Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, and the team, the shoot for Singham Again is taking longer than anticipated.
The film, known for its high-octane action and grandeur, demands meticulous attention to detail. Rather than compromising on quality, Shetty and Devgn prefer to ensure that their vision translates seamlessly onto the screen.
Consequently, the filmmakers have decided to postpone the release date of Singham Again. The August 15 slot now lies vacant, with Jio Studios suggesting a Diwali 2024 release to accommodate the rescheduling. This timing holds significance as Diwali has historically proven to be auspicious for the Ajay-Rohit collaboration.
The production team is currently recalibrating their schedules, particularly focusing on VFX and background score timelines, to align with the new deadline. While an official announcement regarding the revised release date is pending, it’s confirmed that Singham Again will not be hitting the screens on August 15, 2024.
About Pushpa The Rule
Talking about Pushpa The Rule, it is an action-packed Telugu movie directed and written by Sukumar. It’s produced by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers. Allu Arjun stars as Pushpa, joined by Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, and more.
This film is the sequel to Pushpa The Rise, continuing the intense rivalry between Pushpa Raj (played by Allu Arjun) and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekawat IPS (portrayed by Fahadh Faasil).
Shooting began in October 2022, with a whopping budget of Rs 500 crore, making it one of India’s most expensive films to date. Pushpa The Rule hits theatres on August 15, 2024, coinciding with India’s Independence Day.
About Singham Again
On the other hand, Singham Again (also known as Singham 3) is an upcoming Hindi action film directed by Rohit Shetty. It’s part of Shetty’s Cop Universe and follows Singham Returns (2014).
The star-studded cast includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. Filming started in Mumbai and Hyderabad in September 2023.
Ajay Devgn reprises his role as DCP Bajirao Singham, while Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar take on important police officer roles in this film.
