Producer Ramesh Taurani has put an end to speculation surrounding Akshaye Khanna‘s potential return to the Race franchise, confirming that the actor has not been approached for Race 4 and will not be part of the upcoming installment. The clarification comes as the long running action thriller series continues development on its fourth chapter.
Speaking to media recently, Taurani addressed the rumors directly, explaining that there is no scope for Khanna’s character to return. The producer pointed to the original 2008 film where Khanna’s antagonist role concluded with an on screen accident that ended his character arc definitively.
Why Is Akshaye Khanna Not Returning For Race 4
When asked about approaching Akshaye Khanna for the fourth film, Ramesh Taurani was clear in his response. He stated that there was no scope at all for the actor’s return, noting that his character gets into an accident in the first movie and his track ended there, where it will remain.
The speculation about Khanna’s involvement had gained traction following the commercial and critical success of Dhurandhar, which brought renewed attention to the actor’s work. However, the producer’s statement makes it clear that the creative team has no plans to resurrect the character or find workarounds to bring him back into the franchise.
