Amid nationwide lockdown many films have been either pushed a head or are getting an OTT released. Recently, Amitabh Bachchan’s and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Gulabo Sitabo and Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi have moved to release on Amazon Prime.
Now according to the reports Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s and Tamannaah Bhatia starrer Bole Chudiyan may also join the league. Directed by Nawazuddin’s brother Shamas Siddiqui the film may not get a theatrical release.
Talking about the same with a daily co-producer of the film Rajesh Bhatia, seems doubtful that even after lockdown people may not immediately step into the cinema halls. He also revealed that his team have no issues even if the film directly goes to OTT platforms.
“Cinema is a great medium, but, it doesn’t seem like theatres will start functioning within the next six months. We are hence open to the idea of an OTT release. If the film beams to 200 countries, we think that’s a great deal for the right price,” Rajesh was quoted as saying.
“We are responsible to our investors. We must meet a timely release, and generate revenue. Cash flow needs to be generated and directed towards forthcoming productions,” he said.
Bole Chudiyan also features Tamannaah Bhatia opposite Nawazuddin. We will also see Anurag Kashyap in a cameo appearance and South Indian actor Kabir Duhan Singh in a negative role.
The film is produced by Rajesh Bhatia and Kiran Bhatia. The teaser of Bole Chudiyan has already been released in September last year.
