Mr. and Mrs. Mahi will feature Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, who previously appeared together in the film Roohi. The film, which is backed by Dharma Productions and directed by Sharan Sharma, is described as a cricket drama. The project, which was first revealed a few months ago, is now in production.

Janhvi had previously shared photos of herself at a cricket camp where she was being tutored by Indian player Dinesh Karthik.
In 2020, Sharan Sharma made her directorial debut with the film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, starring Janhvi Kapoor. Rajkummar Rao and Janvhi Kapoor will play Mahendra and Mahima, respectively, in Mr.and Mrs. Mahi. The film will be released in theatres on October 7th, 2018.
