Ram Charan’s Peddi has delivered a thunderous early box office signal overseas. On May 8, just hours after advance bookings opened in North America, the film crossed the $100K mark in pre-sales within four hours, setting what distributor Prathyangira Cinemas described as an all-time record for the fastest Indian film to hit that number for premiere shows in the territory.
The scale of that response has instantly elevated Peddi into one of the most closely tracked Indian theatrical launches of 2026. With June 3 premieres locked and the worldwide release following on June 4, the film is already converting long-building curiosity into hard ticket sales, giving Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana a powerful overseas start well before release week fully kicks in.
North America Bookings Ignite Instant Box Office Heat
Prathyangira Cinemas, which is distributing Peddi in North America, announced the milestone on social media with the line, “ALL TIME RECORD #PEDDI, FASTEST $100K+ Pre-Sales for North America Premieres.” The distributor also confirmed that bookings opened on May 7 in US time zones, which aligned with May 8 in India, with premiere shows scheduled for June 3.
That speed has immediately pushed Peddi into the top tier of Indian overseas releases to watch in 2026. The explosive bookings also reflect how strongly the film’s pre-release campaign has connected with audiences. Posters, glimpses and character material featuring Ram Charan’s rugged transformation have steadily expanded the film’s footprint, giving the advance sales a larger build-up than a single-day spike.
That growing interest has also been strengthened by the music. A. R. Rahman’s first single, Chikiri Chikiri, generated major traction online, while the follow-up track, Rai Rai Raa Raa, kept the momentum going with high-energy visuals and choreography, helping the film maintain strong recall across markets. Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma, and is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers. Jio Studios is handling the film’s release in North India.
Why Peddi Is A Crucial Ram Charan Moment
The scale of this early overseas response matters beyond a single booking milestone because Peddi now stands as Ram Charan’s next major theatrical test after Game Changer, which released in January 2025. Before that, his 2022 slate included RRR and Acharya, making Peddi the film that now carries the weight of his next big-screen reset. In that context, a $100K North America start in four hours is not just a sales figure. It is an early sign that audience appetite for Charan in a full-scale theatrical vehicle remains extremely strong, and that Peddi is entering release month with real momentum behind it.
