Abhishek Sharma is recognized as a director who prefers to delve into unconventional themes based on real-life incidents. Recently, he appears to have turned his focus towards the Wuhan virus controversies and its contribution to the worldwide pandemic. According to Bollywood Hungama, Abhishek Sharma is helming a film centered around this topic, and the filmmaker’s close associates have also verified the information.
“Abhishek Sharma has finished the script for his next film which is an espionage thriller set in the backdrop of when the Wuhan Virus became a global issue. It’s not a movie on the pandemic but instead a larger-than-life action drama that uncovers the origin story of the Covid virus that stopped the entire world. Not much has been revealed about the film, but according to the people in the industry it is a large-scale pan India film that intends to investigate the Wuhan lab leak theory with a thrilling narrative,” Bollywood Hungama quoted its source as saying.
“It’s going to be one of the biggest films made and we hear Mahaveer Jain has come on board to produce this movie. Mahaveer and Abhishek have shared a great bond since Ram Setu,” it added.
Abhishek Sharma made his directorial debut with the satirical movie “Tere Bin Laden,” featuring Ali Zafar. He later directed films such as “Parmanu,” starring John Abraham, which was inspired by real-life events, and “Ram Setu,” an adventure drama featuring Akshay Kumar, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Jacqueline Fernandez. Mahaveer Jain, on the other hand, has produced movies like “Uunchai,” starring Amitabh Bachchan and Parineeti Chopra, and “Good Luck Jerry,” featuring Janhvi Kapoor. This upcoming movie, which is yet to be titled, will be the second collaboration between Mahaveer Jain and Abhishek Sharma after “Ram Setu.”
