Ramayana 2 Delay Opens Diwali 2027 Door As Ranbir Kapoor Tips Off Sandeep Reddy Vanga For Prabhas’ Spirit

The Diwali 2027 release race has taken a decisive turn. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Ranbir Kapoor informed Sandeep Reddy Vanga that Ramayana Part 2 was facing a delay, a development that helped clear the path for Prabhas’ Spirit to seize one of the biggest festive slots on the calendar. Soon after that update reached him, Vanga moved ahead with the new date plan for Spirit.

The timing made the shift impossible to ignore. Spirit, which had earlier been scheduled for March 5, 2027, is now set to arrive on October 29, 2027, placing it squarely in the Diwali corridor and instantly changing the competitive landscape for that holiday season.

Spirit Takes Diwali 2027

Vanga’s move has elevated Spirit into one of the highest-profile theatrical plays of 2027. The film stars Prabhas in the lead with Triptii Dimri as the female lead, and marks the director’s first collaboration with the pan-India star. Backed by Bhushan Kumar, the project is being mounted as a large-scale action spectacle aimed at a major all-India box office run.

That release date carries added weight because Ramayana had already been designed as a two-part event franchise. The first film is set to release in 2026, while the second chapter had been aligned with the festive 2027 window. With Spirit now officially locking Diwali 2027, the release map around both titles has changed in a meaningful way.

Ranbir Kapoor Informed Vanga

The key development here is Kapoor’s role in the timing of the shift. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that once he was informed about the delay affecting Ramayana Part 2, he passed that update to Vanga directly. That information allowed the director to act quickly and secure the Diwali 2027 window for Spirit before another event film moved into the same space.

The move also reflects the continuing professional warmth between Kapoor and Vanga after Animal. Rather than building toward a headline-grabbing clash between two major titles linked to the filmmaker and actor, the development appears to have helped prevent a direct festive collision while giving Spirit a premium release frame.

What Happens To Ramayana Part 2

Attention will now shift to the revised release strategy for Ramayana Part 2. As of now, no fresh official date has been announced for the second chapter, but its movement away from the earlier festive plan has already had a ripple effect on the larger theatrical calendar. Any new date will be closely watched because Ramayana remains one of the biggest scale-driven franchise plays in the market.

For the Diwali 2027 corridor, though, the immediate winner is Spirit. With Prabhas fronting a Vanga directorial and the film now occupying a prized holiday weekend, the battle for audience attention has already tilted in its favour. The next big trigger point will be the official repositioning of Ramayana Part 2, which could reshape the release calendar all over again.
