Ramayana Heads To Big Cine Expo 2026 Chennai For Special Footage Screening

The Ramayana campaign is stepping into another high-visibility arena, this time before the people who shape the theatrical business from the inside. The magnum opus is now headed to Big Cine Expo 2026 in Chennai, where special footage from the film will be screened, giving exhibitors and trade stakeholders an early look at one of Hindi cinema’s biggest event titles.

Big Cine Expo Becomes Ramayana’S Next Trade Showcase

Big Cine Expo 2026 is scheduled for August 18 and 19, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre in Chennai, a major annual meeting ground for exhibitors, distributors, cinema technology players and studio executives. That makes the Ramayana footage screening a strategic industry moment, not just another promotional stop. At a forum built around the future of moviegoing and theatrical business, the film’s presence is clearly aimed at strengthening its big-screen profile well ahead of release.

The Chennai showcase also extends a rollout that has already been designed on a notably large canvas. Earlier this year, Ramayana was presented at CinemaCon 2026, where producer Namit Malhotra and Yash pushed the film onto an international exhibition platform. Around the trailer campaign too, the film steadily built scale across public events and audience-facing activations.

One of the strongest statements from that campaign came from Malhotra himself during a trailer screening event, when he said, “I will go to any extent for Ramayana.” The line neatly captures the scale-first ambition behind the film’s current publicity drive, which is now moving from fan events to a focused industry exhibition in Chennai. It also underlines why this latest showcase matters. The makers are not simply selling a film, they are building an event that needs exhibitors, premium screens and theatrical partners fully on board months in advance.

A Two-Part Epic Builds Momentum Ahead Of Diwali 2026

That larger ambition is reflected in the film itself. Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, with Yash also backing the project through Monster Mind Creations. The cast brings together Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil and Vivek Oberoi, giving the adaptation both star power and generational familiarity.

Mounted as a two-part mythological epic, the film is being positioned as a large-format theatrical experience, including IMAX. Part 1 is scheduled for release in Diwali 2026, while Part 2 is set for Diwali 2027. The scale of the casting, the premium-screen push and the carefully staggered promotional appearances all point to a release strategy built around maximum theatrical impact.

That is what makes the Big Cine Expo stop especially significant. A footage screening in that environment does more than create buzz. It places Ramayana directly before the business community that will help shape its exhibition journey across markets and screen formats. For a film mounted on this scale, Chennai is not just another promotional destination. It is the latest signal that Ramayana wants to arrive not merely as a major release, but as a full-scale theatrical event.
