Ranbir Kapoor, Yash And Sai Pallavi Lead Ramayana’s International Trailer Launch As Sony Pictures Begins Worldwide Push

Bengaluru is taking centre stage for one of Indian cinema’s biggest mythological spectacles. The international trailer of Ramayana is being unveiled in the city today, with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash leading a high-profile event that also brings together Ravi Dubey, A.R. Rahman and director Nitesh Tiwari as Sony Pictures begins the film’s global campaign.

The Bengaluru event signals a major shift in how Ramayana is being positioned ahead of release. Rather than limiting the conversation to the domestic market, the makers are using the trailer launch to introduce the ambitious retelling to international audiences as well, with Sony Pictures handling global distribution outside India.

Bengaluru Event Marks Global Rollout

Hosted by Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the event places the spotlight firmly on the film’s scale and international ambition. Alongside the lead cast, producer Namit Malhotra’s vision for Ramayana is now moving into its next big phase, with the worldwide campaign beginning months before the first part reaches theatres.

The film has already stood out for the sheer weight of names attached to it. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi stars as Sita, and Yash takes on the role of Ravana. Sunny Deol features as Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman. With A.R. Rahman on the music front and Nitesh Tiwari directing, the project has been mounted as a large-scale two-part cinematic retelling of the Indian epic.

Release Plan And International Backing

Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026, with Part 2 slated for Diwali 2027. In India, the film will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It is also planned for IMAX release, underlining the scale on which the makers want the story to play out.

Sony Pictures is distributing the film internationally, excluding India, while Dharma Productions will handle distribution in the Hindi-speaking market. The production is backed by Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is conceived as a two-part mythological epic built around the battle between Rama and Ravana. The film adapts one of India’s most revered stories for the big screen, with a cast lineup designed to carry both domestic anticipation and overseas curiosity.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Recent And Upcoming Work

For Ranbir Kapoor, Ramayana becomes one of the most significant titles in his upcoming slate. His last theatrical release was Animal in 2023, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which emerged as a major box office success and became one of the biggest films of his career. Before that, he was seen in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar in 2023 and Brahmastra Part One: Shiva in 2022.

Looking ahead, Ramayana Part 1 will be one of his major 2026 theatrical releases, followed by Part 2 in 2027. The film arrives at a time when Kapoor is balancing star-driven commercial cinema with large-scale franchise storytelling, and this project is clearly positioned as one of the defining milestones of that phase.
