The makers on Monday unveiled Jatayu’s new poster, introducing the noble bird warrior as “The Wings of Dharma,” with Anupam Kher lending his voice to the character ahead of the film’s worldwide release on November 5, 2026.
The reveal arrives at a crucial moment for the ambitious mythological spectacle, with advance bookings for Ramayana Part 1 scheduled to open on Dussehra. That timing has only added to the growing buzz around the film, which has been steadily rolling out major character posters as it builds toward its theatrical launch across premium formats.
Jatayu Steps Into Focus
The newly unveiled visual places Jatayu front and centre, first in a striking close-up and then in a wider image that captures the bird with wings fully outstretched. The design leans into the character’s symbolic power within the Ramayana, foregrounding sacrifice, valour and moral conviction.
Sharing the poster on Instagram, the makers wrote, “When evil took flight, courage rose to meet it. He fought not for victory, but for what was right. Jatayu. The Wings of Dharma. Anupam Kher as Jatayu in Ramayana.”
That line neatly captures why Jatayu remains such a revered figure in the epic. In the story, he confronts Ravana during Sita’s abduction and chooses resistance despite the odds stacked against him. The film’s latest poster taps directly into that legacy, framing the character not simply as a supporting presence, but as a moral force within the larger saga.

Produced by Namit Malhotra and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The film is backed by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, and has been mounted as a large-scale two-part adaptation of the Indian epic.
The story follows the battle between dharma and adharma through Rama’s exile, Sita’s abduction and the eventual confrontation with Ravana. The makers have positioned the film as a global theatrical event, with the first part confirmed for release on November 5, 2026.
