Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama will have a special screening at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on January 23 ahead of its theatrical release. The remastered 4K version of the film will be shown to school children and devotees at this massive religious gathering.

The screening will take place at the Divya Prem Seva Shivir in Sector 6, near Netra Kumbh, starting at 10 am. The event is aimed at introducing the younger audience to the legendary story of the Ramayana, brought to life with Japanese animation.
The Kumbh Mela draws millions of people from around the world & is the perfect setting for this special presentation.
About The Film
Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, directed by Yugo Sako and Ram Mohan, was originally released in 1992. The film tells the epic story of Prince Rama’s journey to rescue his wife, Sita, from the demon king Ravana.
It combines Indian mythology with Japanese animation techniques, creating a visual experience that highlights themes of love, duty, and sacrifice.
Though the film faced production challenges, it has developed a loyal following over time. Its faithful representation of the Ramayana, along with its impressive animation, has made it an important cultural work.

The film will be released in theatres across India for the first time in Ultra HD 4K on January 24, 2025. It will be available in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and English, so audiences all over the country can enjoy the new version. The distribution is being handled by Geek Pictures India, AA Films, and Excel Entertainment.
