Ramayana Trailer Roars Past 5 Million Views In 6 Hours As Ranbir Kapoor, Yash And Sai Pallavi Ignite Epic Buzz

Ramayana has stormed into the conversation exactly the way a film of this scale was expected to, with a thunderous digital start. Unveiled during Brahma Muhurat on Thursday, July 30, the trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic crossed 5 million views within just six hours, turning the launch into an instant online event and giving audiences their first sweeping look at Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama, Yash’s Ravana and Sai Pallavi’s Sita.

The early response says plenty about the appetite around the film, but the promo itself is what has really locked attention. The trailer frames the story as a clash of duty, divinity and destruction, while its visual ambition is impossible to miss. Ravi Dubey appears as Lakshman, Sunny Deol steps into Hanuman’s towering presence, and every major beat is mounted with a scale clearly designed for a worldwide audience.

Trailer Momentum Puts Ramayana In Early Spotlight

What makes this six hour milestone more telling is that Ramayana is arriving with expectations far beyond a routine star driven release. The film has been positioned as a two part big screen retelling of one of India’s most enduring epics, and the trailer leans fully into that promise, blending spectacle with reverence instead of playing it safe with a conventional teaser cut.

That intent has been part of the film’s messaging from the beginning. In the official introduction material, the makers described the vision in emphatic terms: “Ten years of Aspiration. Relentless Conviction to bring the Greatest Epic of all time to the World.” The same promotional note adds, “Welcome to the Beginning” and “Our Truth. Our History.” Those lines now read less like launch rhetoric and more like the creative thesis behind the film’s rollout.

The project is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, adapted by Shridhar Raghavan, and backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The first film is scheduled for a worldwide Diwali 2026 release, with the second chapter planned for 2027.

Why This Launch Feels Bigger Than A Usual Trailer Drop

What gives Ramayana an even sharper identity is the way it is being packaged as a premium theatrical event. The film has been developed for IMAX, and its music pairing of Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman instantly pushes it into rare territory for an Indian tentpole. That East West collaboration has become one of the film’s biggest talking points, adding a prestige layer to a project already carrying enormous cultural and commercial expectations.

The distribution strategy also signals confidence. Sony Pictures is attached to the global rollout, while Dharma Productions is handling North India distribution, reinforcing the sense that the makers are building not just a film launch, but a large scale franchise moment. After this first trailer burst, the conversation around Ramayana now feels firmly activated, and the road to Diwali 2026 has begun at full volume.
