Ranbir Kapoor And Yash’s Ramayana Delays Trailer Launch, Leaves Fans Disappointed Online

Just hours before one of Bollywood’s most anticipated trailer drops, Ramayana slammed the brakes on its big reveal. The trailer, scheduled to launch on July 24 alongside the film’s splashy presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, was postponed at the last minute, leaving fans online frustrated after days of mounting excitement. The delay instantly shifted attention from the trailer itself to the scale of the move behind it.

Producer Namit Malhotra confirmed the development in an official statement, making it clear that the change was tied to a much bigger play for the film’s international rollout. For a project already carrying enormous audience expectation thanks to its cast led by Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, the sudden pause only intensified conversation around how carefully the makers are managing every major step of the launch.

Why The Trailer Was Delayed

In his statement, Malhotra said, “Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above, we will be launching our trailer globally at a later date.”

That update turned what should have been a straightforward promotional milestone into a much bigger talking point. Instead of celebrating the trailer drop, fans found themselves reacting to a strategic pause just as the film’s Comic-Con moment was taking shape.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana brings together Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana in a starry adaptation of the Indian epic. The ensemble also features Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil and Vivek Oberoi, while the two-part film is currently lined up for Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027 releases, respectively.

Fans Left Waiting As Anticipation Peaks

The online disappointment was immediate because Ramayana has been building the kind of curiosity few Hindi films manage this early. Fans had spent days tracking updates, expecting the trailer to finally reveal the scale, visual design and performances that have been discussed for months. When the launch did not happen, the mood online quickly shifted from excitement to impatience.

That reaction also says a lot about how intensely audiences are already invested in the film. A delayed reveal often fades within hours, but in this case it only heightened anticipation. For fans, the trailer was not just another promotional drop. It was meant to be the first real window into one of the most ambitious mythological adaptations currently in production, and its sudden absence has only made the eventual launch feel even bigger.
