The wait for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana just got more intense. The makers have released an “Introduction to the World of Ramayana” video, offering fans their first tantalizing glimpse of the film’s world and teases the lead stars, Ranbir Kapoorand Yash, ahead of its Diwali 2026 release.
The film, already generating buzz with its star-studded cast and colossal budget, now tantalizes fans with a teaser that teases but doesn’t spill.
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is expected to break records because the first look has already built anticipation. The use of VFX, the visuals of Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and Yash as Ravana, have mesmerized fans. Ramayana Part 1 is all set to hit theaters on Diwali 2026. Ahead of it, it’s been known that the movie will be reportedly dubbed in multiple languages.
Reportedly, Ramayana will be visually dubbed into English, Japanese, Mandarin, and several international languages. However, all the shlokas and bhajans will be in Indian languages to preserve their cultural and spiritual authenticity.

Producer Namit Malhotra, who previously worked on Hollywood VFX blockbusters like Dune and The Dark Knight, has announced in a statement that Ramayana will set a new paradigm for Indian cinema. In a statement, he said, “Our movie will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the biggest producations in the world like the Dune and Avatar.”
Ramayana budget
The upcoming Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, is set to be the most expensive Indian film, with a budget reportedly of ₹4,000 crore (around $500 million), according to Hindustan Times. The film’s ambitious scale, extensive use of VFX, and world-class production design made this high-budget script possible.
Ramayana cast
Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic, Ramayana, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The film also features Ravie Dubey as Lord Lakshman. Apart from them, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan, Lara Dutta, and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen playing important characters in the film.
Meanwhile, Ramayana will hit theatres in two parts in Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.
