The crash was hard enough to leave both actors shaken, the set scrambling for a doctor, and Gursewak Singh fearing he had ruined a crucial action sequence. But when the dust settled on the Dhurandhar 2 shoot, the moment that stayed with him was far gentler. In a heartfelt Instagram post shared after the film’s release, Gursewak recalled that Ranveer Singh did not snap, complain, or assign blame after their violent collision. He simply hugged him.
Gursewak said the incident took place during the Amritsar schedule while the team was filming a tightly timed action stretch involving a planted bomb, a tractor, and a cover move that had to land perfectly. He wrote that rehearsals had gone smoothly, but a slight delay while setting the bomb threw off the timing of the shot. “Me and Ranveer brother had a big collision, like something would hit at 70 speed,” he wrote, adding that he fell into the tyres while Ranveer came down over him.
The Injury That Became A Lasting Memory
According to Gursewak, both men were hurt in the collision. He said Ranveer’s gun struck his stomach, while the hose attached to his own prop gun hit Ranveer’s elbow. The force of the impact made him faint, and when he regained composure, his first worry was whether Ranveer had been seriously injured. A doctor was called, and director Aditya Dhar rushed over as the team checked on both actors.
What stayed with Gursewak most was Ranveer’s response once the immediate panic eased. “I said in fear, ‘Sir, sorry, it was my fault,’” he wrote. Ranveer replied, “never mind,” and hugged him. Gursewak added that Ranveer then asked whether he wanted to rest or continue, and he chose to carry on until the sequence was completed.
That recollection has gained fresh attention now that Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge arrived in theatres on March 19, 2026. Gursewak also wrote that the team continued shooting for 35 more days after the incident, a detail that underlines both the physical demands of the film and the trust that held the unit together. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Hindi spy action thriller features Ranveer Singh alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan.
When Off-Screen Warmth Meets On-Screen Firepower
Seen in that context, the anecdote lands as more than a behind-the-scenes memory. It arrives at a time when Ranveer’s screen image is increasingly tied to physically intense, high-stakes roles, making Gursewak’s account feel like a revealing counterpoint to the aggression audiences see on screen. After the success of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023 and his appearance in Singham Again in 2024, Dhurandhar and now Dhurandhar 2 have pushed him deeper into the action-star space.
That is what gives Gursewak’s post its emotional pull. As Ranveer’s filmography leans harder into scale, spectacle, and combat-heavy roles, this story from the set offers a glimpse of the temperament behind that image. For Gursewak, the lasting takeaway was not the mishap itself, but the grace with which Ranveer handled it in a moment that could easily have turned tense.
