Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3 has snowballed into a major industry flashpoint, with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees now placing on record why it moved ahead with a non-cooperation directive. The directive was announced on May 25, 2026, after filmmaker Farhan Akhtar approached the federation in April over the fallout linked to the film.
Fwice Details Its Attempts To Reach Ranveer Singh
FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit said the body made repeated efforts to bring both sides to the table before taking formal action. “So we very strongly tried our best. We sent him invitations thrice. There was no response, and then finally he sent mail when he came to know that we are having a press conference, saying that this doesn’t come under a jurisdiction,” Pandit said.
He further added, “So with that said, fine, if you feel so strongly. Toh theek hai. Koi baat nahi. Doesn’t matter. So that is a basic thing, we will wait. We’ll sit with the producer body. Will sit with different associations, and we’ll see how things happen.”
Pandit also stressed that the dispute cannot be treated “like some family dispute,” pointing out that film industry professionals eventually have to work with one another despite disagreements.
Ranveer Singh’S Team Issues Official Response
Ranveer’s spokesperson responded to the controversy with a statement that framed the actor’s silence as a conscious professional choice. “Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect.”
The statement further read, “While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead. He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance.”
What The Don 3 Dispute Centres On
Don 3 is the next chapter in Farhan Akhtar’s crime thriller franchise, backed by Excel Entertainment. Shah Rukh Khan led Don in 2006 and Don 2 in 2011, while Ranveer was announced as the new face of the franchise in 2023. Farhan later informed FWICE that Ranveer’s exit led to losses after pre-production had begun.
Ranveer Singh’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Ranveer’s recent slate has included Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in 2023 opposite Alia Bhatt and Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again in 2024, where he reprised Simmba. He headlined Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar in 2025 and returned in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which released on March 19, 2026. Ahead, King is listed as filming, while an untitled Shankar project remains part of his future lineup.
