Karan Johar‘s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was one of the most highly anticipated films of this year. It was also special because it was the 25th anniversary of Karan as a director as well as his return as a director after nearly seven years. The film, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, was released last week and met with positive reviews and a strong box-office response.
Today, the film’s team hosted a press conference in Mumbai as they bask in its success. Ranveer talked about Deepika Padukone’s reaction after watching the romantic drama, stating that it was a “fulfilling experience” for her. He said, “She loved it. It was a memorable and fulfilling experience. It was just the two of us, sitting in the last row, in recliners. She was laughing, crying, and clapping. I had the best and most fulfilling experience. She is proud of me.”
Ranveer Also Talked About Box office
Two of Ranveer’s previous films, Cirkus and Jayeshbhai Jordaar had not performed well at the box-office. At the event, he was asked if he was under pressure because of all that. His response was, “I don’t dwell too much with failure or success. Just grateful to go on film sets and work with such talented actors. My character being loved is icing on the cake.” Earlier, Ranveer had shared a video of Deepika grooving over the What Jhumka song.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s BO
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Khaani opened to generally positive reviews. On its opening day alone, the film has minted 11.50 cr net which is a great start for a film of this size. In its first five days, the film went on to gross 125 crore at the global box office. As we are looking at the collections, the film has already become a commercially profitable venture and it will continue to do well on the ticket window. So far, audiences and industry insiders have also loved the film for its content and social messaging. The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
