Actor Rashmika Mandanna, who won the hearts of the audience with her performance as Srivalli in Pushpa: The Rise, has opened up about her upcoming film Pushpa: The Rule, the sequel to the blockbuster hit starring Allu Arjun. In an interview, the actor shared some interesting updates about the film, which is slated to release on August 15, 2024.
Rashmika Mandanna on becoming close to cast and crew
Rashmika Mandanna told Pinkvilla about how close the cast and crew of the film is by now, “It starts feeling like home. Like, when you finish one film, and towards the end of the film you get really connected with the cast and crew, right, so when you have the part 2 coming, again you’re like ‘Hey, what’s up!?’ and you just, sort of like – it’s party time.”

Speaking about her character, Rashmika said now her character is Pushpa’s wife which comes with a lot of responsibilities.
She mentioned that the sequel will have a “lot more masala” and will have more drama and conflicts.

Rashmika Mandanna on working with Sukumar
Further, the actress also opened up about working with a perfectionist like director Sukumar, and mentioned that there are high expectations on the film, as well as the artists. She further said that it’s up to the artist as to how much they want to deliver, and said that her performance in Pushpa 2 has been the best that she did on a particular day.

Earlier, Rashmika had given an update about the film and said, “I can promise you that Pushpa 2 is going to be so much bigger. We gave some madness in the first film, in part 2, we know we have a responsibility because people have so much expectation from the film. We are constantly and consciously trying to deliver that. I just shot for a song for Pushpa 2 and I was just like, ‘How are you guys thinking about this?’ Everyone is so driven to make a good film. All of us have gone all out and are enjoying the process. It’s a story that has no end, you can lead it any which way. It is fun,” she said.
Pushpa: The Rule is the second instalment of the Pushpa saga, which tells the story of a daily labourer’s rise and fall in the world of redwood smuggling. The film is expected to be one of the biggest releases of Telugu cinema this year, and will also have a dubbed version in Hindi and other languages.
