“John plays the role of someone who works for money. He doesn’t have a nationality; he is ruthless with his only religion being money. It’s more like a freelance undercover terrorist. In Pathan, he works for the Russian mafia, who are running a covert gun racket in India,” revealed a trade source to Bollywood Hungama.

Eventually, John’s character engages in a battle royale with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, who are on a quest to smash the racket. In contrast to the stereotype of terrorists being conservative, John’s track is a little more laid-back, considering he is a man on a covert mission. In Pathan, he will appear in a very skinny avatar who will fight SRK in various pursuit sequences and hand-to-hand combat. Over the last few months, the actor has shed muscles.
