The iconic director-actor duo that gave us the cult classic Satya is back. Ram Gopal Varma and Manoj Bajpayee have joined forces again, and the shoot for their brand-new film, a horror-comedy titled Police Station Mein Bhoot, has officially kicked off in Hyderabad.
Adding to the excitement, the incredibly talented Genelia Deshmukh joins the cast, promising a fresh and quirky cinematic experience.
A Reunion Almost 30 Years In The Making
For any fan of true Indian cinema, the collaboration between RGV and Manoj Bajpayee is legendary. They changed the face of Bollywood with game-changing films like Satya, Kaun, and Shool. Now, after nearly three decades, this powerhouse duo is back to create magic once again, and the anticipation is sky-high.
Manoj Bajpayee shared his excitement on Instagram with an emotional post, saying, “From Satya to now… some journeys are meant to come full circle. Thrilled to reunite with @rgvzoomin…” This shows just how special this project is for everyone involved.
A Creepy And Quirky First Look
The makers have also dropped the first-look poster, and it is perfectly unsettling. The poster shows Manoj Bajpayee in a police uniform, but something is seriously wrong. His face is obscured, his eyes are shining eerily, and he is clutching a terrifying doll covered in what looks like blood. The poster brilliantly sets the tone for a horror-comedy; it’s creepy, strange, and makes you ask, “What is going on here?”
The excitement for the film is palpable, with the makers announcing that the first schedule of shooting is already complete. Director Ram Gopal Varma shared his own thrill about the project and the highly anticipated reunion.
Speaking about the film, RGV said, “Working with Manoj again after Satya is both nostalgic and thrilling. Fear becomes most frightening when it challenges the highest authority of safety, and a police station is the ultimate symbol of power.” He added, “With Manoj’s intensity and Genelia’s vulnerability, this story will push boundaries of how we perceive horror in the guise of authority.”
What Happens When The Police Get Scared?
The film comes with a fantastic and hilarious premise. It’s set in a haunted police station where the ghosts of slain gangsters are terrorizing the cops. The story revolves around a chillingly funny question, which Genelia Deshmukh perfectly summed up in her Instagram post: “When we’re scared, we run to the police. But where do the police run when they’re scared?”
Genelia also shared her excitement about stepping into this unique world where “fear meets fun.” With a plot this interesting and a cast this good, audiences are in for a treat. The makers have also promised state-of-the-art VFX to bring the spooky elements to life.
