Richa Chadha Faces Backlash Over Her Tweet Mocking The Indian Army With A Galwan Taunt, Deletes And Apologises Later. Check Netizens’ Reactions Inside!

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit was quick to tag Mumbai police.

Richa Chadha quoted a tweet stating “Galwan Says Hi” earlier today of a user who mentioned Northern Army Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi’s statement, “We’re fully prepared to take back PoK from Pakistan. We are waiting for the orders from the govt. We will complete the operation quickly. Before that if Pakistan is violating the ceasefire, the answer will be different, even they cannot imagine.’- Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command IA.”

Soon, her tweet got viral and came under fire, with many verified users condemning her reaction, seemingly she mocked the Indian army. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated, “Disgraceful Tweet. Should be withdrawn at the earliest. Insulting our armed forces is not justified.” Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit was quick to tag Mumbai police. Actress later deleted the tweet and apologised.

She tweeted, “Even though it can never be my intention in the least, if the 3 words which have been dragged into a controversy have offended or hurt anyone, I apologize and also say that it would sadden me if even unintentionally my words have triggered this feeling in my brothers in the Fauj, of which my own Nanaji has been an illustrious part. As a Lt. Col, he took a bullet in the leg in the Indo-China war, in 1960s. It’s in my blood.” 

“A whole family is affected when their son is martyred or even injured while saving the nation which is made up of people like us and I personally know how it feels. It is an emotive issue for me,” she added.
