Ritvik Sahore is stepping into a pivotal emotional space in Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, playing Aniket Nikam, the son of celebrated public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. With the film’s trailer now out and the theatrical release locked for October 16, 2026, the young actor finds himself at the heart of a story that moves beyond the courtroom and into the family life behind one of India’s most high-profile legal battles.
Rajkummar Rao leads the film as Ujjwal Nikam, while Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher round out the principal cast. Directed by Avinash Arun, Prahaar is built around the legal aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and the prosecution that followed.
Ritvik Sahore On Playing Aniket Nikam
For Ritvik, the role offered a chance to explore a more intimate layer of the story. He said, “It was truly an honour to be a part of Prahaar and get the opportunity to play Aniket Nikam. It is an important part in the film, and it was fun exploring Aniket’s relationship with his father, Ujjwal Nikam, and how the family stood together through everything. The film also explores the personal life of Ujjwal Nikam, while he was busy fighting for justice for India, his family was holding fort and was the support system behind him.”
That personal angle sets Prahaar apart from many dramatisations around 26/11, which have largely focused on the attacks themselves. Ritvik underlined exactly that when he said, “A lot of movies have been made around what happened on the night of 26/11, but not many know what went into the courtrooms after, to establish the crimes committed by Kasab. I feel it is an extremely important chapter that needed to be told.”
A Film Backed By A Strong Ensemble
The recently unveiled trailer positions Prahaar as a courtroom drama with emotional and political weight, with Rajkummar Rao taking on one of his most intense roles in recent years. The film also marks a significant collaboration for Ritvik, who shared, “It was an enriching experience for me as an actor to work alongside Rajkummar Rao and under the direction of Avinash Arun, two greats of the industry. I am extremely proud of the film and feel blessed that I got to be a part of such an important story.”
For an actor who has steadily built credibility across film and streaming projects, Prahaar feels like a notable big-screen step.
Ritvik Sahore’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Ritvik first drew attention as a child actor in Ferrari Ki Sawaari before appearing in Dangal, where he played the young Omkar Singh Phogat. Over the last few years, he has become especially familiar to younger audiences through Flames, Indori Ishq, Campus Diaries, Highway Love and Jamnapaar. His recent visible phase has been driven largely by OTT titles, helping him build a grounded, accessible screen image.
He has also earned recognition beyond mainstream youth dramas. His work in Gauru: Journey of Courage won him Best Performance at the China International Children’s Film Festival, while To Remember Me By brought him Best Actor at the Mumbai International Film Festival. With Prahaar arriving in cinemas this October, Ritvik now adds a sharply different, more layered film to his evolving body of work.
