After enjoying the success of ‘Drishyam 2’, Ajay Devgn is ready for his next project with director Neeraj Pandey. The romantic thriller film is said to be featuring Ajay Devgn, Jimmy Shergill and Saiee Manjrekar. As per reports, the cast will commence shooting for the film by the end of January. The film is set in two different eras.
Earlier, the report of Jimmy Shergill in a key role had come, now the much-awaited film is joined by Saiee Manjrekar as a female lead. For the unversed, Saiee made her debut with Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3 and was recently seen in Adivi Sesh’s Major.
A source told Pinkvilla, “Saiee Manjrekar has come on board to play the female lead of this yet untitled romantic thriller. Neeraj Pandey and his team have been auditioning multiple talents for the particular role over the last few months. Their auditions included debutants and also some already in the industry. It’s after a round of prolonged process that they got Saiee on board to play the female lead.”
Besides her, the filmmakers are also looking for another young actor and the details on the same will be out soon. The source revealed that the shoot will begin by the end of January. “The shoot begins by the end of month in Lucknow followed by another schedule in Mumbai before calling it a wrap. It’s a proper romantic thriller, which will be shot over a period of 50 days. The film has been announced as a June 2023 release, but it has now been delayed to the second half of the year. A new date will be announced once the shoot is wrapped up,” the source added.
It’s the first time when Ajay Devgn and Neeraj Pandey are coming together for a film. Their other project, Chankya, has been put on hold for now. The film will feature Ajay in a unique avatar and the track of the film will be unique. Meanwhile, Ajay will be next seen in Bholaa and Maidaan.
