Currently, Taimur and Jeh’s father, Saif Ali Khan, is spending time with his children in Mumbai. The actor’s most recent appearance was in the much-discussed Vikram Vedha, which first paired him with Hrithik Roshan. The movie attracted a lot of interest because it was a remake of the same-named hit from the South and it also had a lot of commercial features. The movie did not receive the kind of reception anticipated, while being predicted to perform pretty well at the box office. In a recent interview, Saif was frank in sharing his thoughts about Vikram Vedha’s performance as well as the underwhelming reception that Bollywood movies have been getting at the box office.
Despite having a huge budget of Rs. 100 crore, Vikram Vedha only managed to make about Rs. 80 crore at the domestic box office. Although Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s star-studded casting and the inclusion of mass appeal features like action and item songs raised hopes for a strong reception, the film fell short of those hopes. In response to this, as per CNBC-TV 18, Saif Ali Khan stated, “The reason we should be so kind to each other is because nobody has any clue as to what works and doesn’t work.”
He added, “I have no idea but something is happening. People will continue to make movies. Prices will keep fluctuating because our pricing, some of it, is insane. We pay people astronomically and the returns have been not good.” The actor also said that people need to make enough money so they can afford to spend money on seeing these movies.
Regarding his upcoming projects, Saif Ali Khan will next be seen playing Lankeshwar, also known as Raavan, in the ambitious Ramayana-inspired film Adipurush, which also features Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The Om Raut-directed movie is scheduled for release in June 2023.
