In his post, Johar wrote, “I don’t remember the last time I felt like this after watching a film… Tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy.” He added, “Joy for the fact that a love story has conquered the silver screen and made the nation fall in love.”
Calling the film a turning point, he continued, “Proudest that my Alma Mater YRF has brought love back. Back to the movies. Back to our industry. Adi, I love you and feel so proud to say that I am a YRF student for life.”
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda Shine Bright in Debuts
Karan didn’t hold back in his praise for the lead actors, both of whom have made their debut with Saiyaara. About Ahaan Panday, he wrote, “You broke my heart and yet energised me as a filmmaker. Your eyes spoke volumes and I can’t wait to see your journey ahead. You are spectacular.”
He also applauded Aneet Padda, calling her “gorgeous” and writing, “How lovely and amazing are you. Your silences spoke volumes and your vulnerability and strength moved me to tears.”
“Both Ahaan and you were beyond magical,” he summed up, cementing their arrival as the newest breakout stars of Hindi cinema.

Johar declared Saiyaara the finest film of Mohit Suri’s journey so far, stating, “I am blown away by his storytelling, his craft and his magnificent use of music. The music is not just a pillar but a character in this film.”
Karan also congratulated debut producer Aadarsh Widhani, writing, “What a debut as producer. That ball is now officially out of the park.”
He extended his appreciation to the technical and music teams, giving “special mention to the brilliant editing team” and thanking YRF’s casting head Shanoo Sharma with, “Love you Shanoo.”
