Salman Khan to Star in Military Thriller Inspired by Galwan Clash
Salman Khan’s next big screen outing after Sikandar is locked in — and it’ll be different from anything he’s done previously. The superstar is going to play an army officer in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming film, which is an adaptation of India’s Most Fearless 3, based on the Galwan Valley conflict. The project is scheduled to go on floors in July 2025.
Salman Khan Signs on for Apoorva Lakhia’s Military Drama
According to sources closely associated with the project, Salman Khan has officially signed onto an action-packed military drama directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film will be a cinematic adaptation of the bestselling book India’s Most Fearless 3 and focuses on meshing out the events of the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict. Salman will be performing the role of army officer for the first time.
“This is a 2-night story set during a national conflict, that will be shot in real locations across Ladakh and Mumbai. The locked-in schedule is 70 days starting in July 2025,” the insider said.
The team is already in preparation work, and Lakhia is expected to do a recce in Ladakh in the coming weeks. Currently, casting is underway for the three younger leads who will act alongside Salman.
The Script That Beat All Other Filmmakers at Galaxy Apartments
It’s been just three months, and Salman Khan has had conversations with big filmmakers, including:

But the script that got the deal with Salman Khan was Apoorva Lakhia’s military drama — and this is something Salman believed had the size, authenticity, and nationalistic impact to be worthy of a big-screen event film.

While many fans were hoping to see a sequel to Bajrangi Bhaijaan, it seems Kabir Khan isn’t keen on a sequel. Instead, he has pitched Salman Khan a totally different original larger-than-life drama that may go to floors post-Apoorva Lakhia movie — so October time.
“Kabir is not keen to do Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2, despite a story from Vijayendra Prasad. He wants to leave well enough alone and let this remain a classic,” confirmed a source.
“If all falls into place, the Salman-Kabir film will start in November 2025.”
With that said, Salman’s ability to make questionable film choices is renowned, and insiders remind us that:
