Salman Khan’s next big-screen move is aiming straight for the slot that once became synonymous with his superstardom. After staying away from the Eid corridor that powered several of his biggest theatrical highs, the actor is now teaming up with producer Dil Raju and director Vamshi Paidipally for a large-scale commercial entertainer targeted for Eid 2027.
An Eid 2027 Comeback Takes Shape
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Salman Khan is in discussions with Dil Raju and Vamshi Paidipally to lock schedules for an Eid 2027 release. The film is being designed as a full-bodied action entertainer with an emotional spine, built around the star’s mass appeal and festive box office pull.
The project has moved into pre-production, with principal photography planned from April. The makers are mounting it on a large canvas, with shoots scheduled across multiple locations in India and VFX playing a major part in the storytelling. The release target remains the first half of 2027, with Eid positioned as the key window.
The collaboration is notable for another reason too. It pairs Salman with Vamshi Paidipally for the filmmaker’s major Hindi outing after a successful run in Telugu cinema with titles such as Maharshi and Varisu, while Dil Raju brings the scale and packaging of a producer long associated with mainstream event films. The title has not been announced yet, and the broader cast remains under wraps.
What gives this development added weight is the timing. Salman is at a stage where every theatrical choice is being watched closely, and a high-concept festive entertainer with a new creative team instantly stands out as more than just another star vehicle.
Why This Film Matters In Salman Khan’s Current Chapter
That context matters because Salman’s recent run has been a mixed one. Tiger 3 in 2023, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, reinforced his pull in franchise-driven spectacle and delivered the stronger commercial performance of his recent releases. In the same year, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, directed by Farhad Samji and also featuring Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh, landed with a far softer response, making the contrast in audience reception impossible to ignore.
Before that, Radhe in 2021 arrived in a hybrid release model during a disrupted exhibition phase, while Sikandar was released in 2025 as another major theatrical outing. His slate also includes Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, the war drama announced with its revised title in 2026. Seen against that trajectory, the Paidipally and Dil Raju film feels like a carefully positioned move, one that leans into scale, celebration, and a tried-and-tested release corridor without looking like a repeat of the past. If it clicks, Eid 2027 could become the moment Salman Khan regains his most natural big-screen rhythm.
