Salman Khan, the Bollywood superstar, is preparing to release his new film, Antim: The Final Truth. Mahesh Manjrekar’s film is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year. Aside from that, the celebrity intends to start his passion project.
With many film projects, a clothing brand, and his reality show Bigg Boss, the superstar is already very busy. Salman Talkies will be his own theatre chain, which he hopes to create in the near future. His project has gotten a lot of attention. According to the most recent news, the project is now being postponed. As per the ETimes report, Salman Khan explained about the delay in the project, “Yes we had plans to open up theatres. We planned to open them up, hopefully, it’ll be sometime soon.”
“It is still in the works. We were planning it but everything was put on hold (owing to the pandemic). Slowly we will get back to it, but definitely someday,” the superstar added.
While many of his fans are anticipating the launch of Salman Talkies in major cities, it is worth noting that the Dabangg actor has plans to open it in the outskirts of towns and rural India, where people do not have access to cinemas. He said, “We had planned to open them up in smaller towns where people didn’t have access to theatres. Not here in cities like Mumbai.”
Salman Khan is said to have visited with a number of producers, distributors, and exhibitors in order to solidify his plan. Before embarking on his passion project, he wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the market. According to reports, the actor will launch the project in Maharashtra initially, then expand it to other states over the next ten years.
