Salman Khan Gets Court Relief As Delhi High Court Orders Kala Hiran Teaser Takedown Within 24 Hours

What began as a controversial teaser drop has now turned into a courtroom flashpoint for Salman Khan. In a significant legal win for the superstar, the Delhi High Court has ordered the teaser of Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy to be taken down within 24 hours, holding that content which harms a person’s reputation cannot be allowed to remain online while a connected criminal matter is still pending.

Delhi High Court Steps In On Kala Hiran Teaser

Hearing Khan’s plea, Justice Jyoti Singh took a firm view after watching the teaser in court and directed that it be removed from social media within 24 hours. The court also said that if the producer failed to comply, platforms including X and YouTube could be directed to pull down the links. During the hearing, the judge observed, “Reputation once lost is lost…..,” underlining the seriousness of the alleged harm.

Khan’s legal team argued that the film violated his personality rights and contained defamatory material. The actor contended that the teaser portrayed him as having links to the underworld and could prejudice his right to a fair trial, since proceedings connected to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case are still pending before the Rajasthan High Court and the Supreme Court. The plea also pointed to a poster featuring a character resembling Khan, complete with a bracelet strongly associated with the actor.

The petition further alleged that after Khan sent a legal notice to the filmmakers, producer Amit Jani publicly tore it up during an interview and later made social media allegations against the actor. That conduct became part of the broader dispute before the court, which moved swiftly to halt the teaser’s circulation.

Salman Khan’S Wider Image Protection Battle Intensifies

This latest order comes amid Salman Khan’s broader 2026 legal push against the unauthorised use of his identity, image and publicity rights. In an earlier Delhi High Court order passed on April 30, 2026, the court had already restrained parties from creating, publishing or circulating material that infringed his personality and publicity rights, while also directing takedown of specific links and listings.

That earlier protection has now become a crucial part of Khan’s challenge to Kala Hiran. The actor’s legal position is that an identifiable portrayal linked to a matter still before the courts crosses into unlawful and defamatory territory, especially when it risks damaging a public figure’s reputation in real time.

Salman Khan’S Recent And Upcoming Work

On the film front, Salman Khan was last seen in Sikandar, which released in 2025. Before that, his most recent theatrical release was Tiger 3 in 2023, where he returned as Avinash Singh Rathore in the YRF spy franchise. In 2024, he also made special appearances in Singham Again and Baby John, keeping his screen presence active between full-fledged starring vehicles.

His next confirmed film is Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, the Apoorva Lakhia-directed war drama that was previously known as Battle of Galwan. IMDb currently lists the film in post-production for a 2026 India release, with Khan leading the cast alongside Chitrangda Singh and Ankur Bhatia. The project is also listed under Salman Khan Films, making it his next major screen outing both as star and producer.
