Salman Khan and Nayanthara Set April 18 Shoot Start for Dil Raju’s SVC63

Salman Khan’s next big-screen chapter is opening with a casting twist built for maximum attention. In a pairing that instantly lifts the film’s scale and curiosity factor, Khan is set to star opposite Nayanthara for the first time in Dil Raju’s SVC63, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. With two major stars from different industries coming together, the action drama has already positioned itself as one of the most closely watched new productions on the horizon. The film will begin shooting on April 18 in Mumbai.

That date gives SVC63 its first firm production milestone after weeks of industry buzz around Khan’s next move. The opening schedule has been planned at the SRPF Ground in Goregaon, where the team is expected to kick off with a large-scale action sequence featuring Khan. From there, the film will move into an extended multi-city shoot as Paidipally mounts the project on a scale aimed squarely at theatrical event status.

Mumbai Shoot Launches A Major New Star Combination

The April 18 start matters because it formally sets in motion a collaboration that had been gathering momentum since Khan confirmed his association with Paidipally and Dil Raju in late March. Nayanthara’s entry soon became the project’s biggest talking point, giving SVC63 a wider cross-market appeal and making it more than just another star-led action film.

Paidipally arrives with a commercial track record that includes Yevadu, Oopiri, Maharshi, and Varisu. With SVC63, he steps into a major Hindi star vehicle with a film designed for scale, action, and broad theatrical pull. The project is slated for release in 2027.

That also explains why the film is being watched as more than a routine production start. For Khan, SVC63 is shaping up as a strategic addition to a slate that is balancing familiar mass appeal with fresh combinations.

Why SVC63 Matters In Salman Khan’s Next Phase

One of the film’s biggest strengths is how decisively it broadens Khan’s current screen equation. Pairing him with Nayanthara gives SVC63 a stronger pan-India identity from day one, while Paidipally’s presence signals an attempt to package Khan in a fresh directorial grammar rather than lean only on established franchise value. That combination makes the film stand out in his lineup even before its full cast and title are officially unveiled.

Khan’s last full-fledged theatrical releases were Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023, Tiger 3 in 2023, and Sikandar, which released on March 30, 2025. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Sikandar arrived as an Eid action release. He also made notable appearances in Pathaan, Singham Again, and Baby John, maintaining his visibility across mainstream event cinema.

His other confirmed upcoming project is Maatrubhumi, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The war drama, inspired by the Galwan Valley clash and previously known as Battle of Galwan, remains one of the key titles on his upcoming slate. For now, though, SVC63 has the spotlight, and its April 18 shoot start has turned industry chatter into a concrete next move.
