Salman Khan has been drawn to action films in recent years, although he has stated that he is looking for a comedy caper. The latest reports states that the actor has begun talks with Anees Bazmee for a full-fledged comedy that will begin shooting towards the end of next year. Salman Khan Films will produce the film alongside Zee Studios and Murad Khetani.
“After acting in comedies like Andaz Apna Apna, Biwi No. 1, Judwaa, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, No Entry, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Partner and Ready, Salman has been keen to do another comedy for a while now. He was on a look out for the right script and it seems to have finally come his way as he has been in advanced conversation with Anees Bazmee and other stakeholders over the last month for this comic entertainer,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
While paperwork is still being finalised, it appears to be Salman’s comeback to the comic book genre. Surprisingly, Murad was in talks with Salman about doing an official adaptation of Thalapathy Vijay’s actioner Master. Salman has opted to step away from the movie, according to our source, after attempting to alter the script to meet Hindi tastes.
“He doesn’t want to do direct remakes any more. After things not working out on Master, Murad offered a Korean remake to Salman, however, the actor yet again wasn’t too keen on the film. They are finally on the same page with this Anees Bazmee comedy, and things are expected to be locked soon,” the source added.
Salman and Anees previously collaborated on the films No Entry and Ready, both of which were box office smashes. Salman will reprise his role as Prem in the new film, like he did in the previous two family films. While the main premise has already been established, various components of the script are now being developed. “The paperwork and other aspects will happen once Salman returns from the overseas leg of Tiger 3. By then, the script too will be locked and SK will take the final call based on the writing output,” added the source.
