Get ready to hear about a very heartwarming story from the sets of Battle of Galwan. Salman Khan has taken his generosity to a whole new level by bringing his Being Haangry vans to film sets. The superstar has remodeled two vans into fully equipped mobile kitchens that serve fresh meals to the entire unit, completely free of cost.
Salman Khan started this practice during the shoot of Sikandar earlier this year. The actor was reportedly uncomfortable with the common film industry practice of serving different quality food to different people on set. Stars get one type of meal, technicians and heads of departments get another, and unit hands get something else. Salman wanted everyone to eat the same food that he eats, and that is exactly what these mobile kitchens now provide.
Mobile Kitchens That Can Feed 500 People
The remodeled Being Haangry vans are not just regular food trucks. Each van comes with a fully equipped kitchen and cold storage facilities. Two professional cooks run the kitchen during each shift, preparing fresh meals throughout the day.
The kitchens are big enough to cook for 500 people at once. This is a huge number and shows just how committed Salman is to feeding his entire film crew. The meals are provided outside of what the production team serves, giving everyone more options.
What Is On The Menu
The food options are very impressive. The menu includes everyday staples like dal, rice, methi ki sabzi, and aloo matar. For non-vegetarian lovers, there is fish curry and rice. The actor’s all-time favourite dish, mutton biryani, is also regularly prepared.
The younger crew members who prefer healthier options can order avocado sandwiches. Coffee is also available throughout the day. The focus is always on providing clean, healthy, and fresh food to everyone on set.
From Pandemic Relief To Film Sets
The Being Haangry initiative started during the 2020 pandemic lockdown. Salman Khan deployed food trucks across Mumbai to provide ration kits to underprivileged people and meals to frontline workers. Five years later, the purpose of these trucks has expanded beautifully.
Now, these vans are a regular presence on the sets of Salman’s projects, including Battle of Galwan. The actor also uses them while filming for Bigg Boss. What started as pandemic relief has now become a permanent way to take care of film crews.
