Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, has come forward to defend his son amid escalating threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi over the blackbuck poaching case.
The veteran screenwriter insists that Salman is innocent and does not owe an apology. The ongoing threats have placed Salman under Y+ security as he continues his work on upcoming projects.
Salim Khan Says Salman Khan Can Never Kill Animals
Salim Khan recently spoke to ABP News, shedding light on Salman’s perspective regarding the blackbuck incident. He mentioned that after the incident, he asked his son what happened, to which Salman responded, “I wasn’t even at the spot.”
Salim Khan confidently added, “He never lies to me,” affirming his trust in Salman’s version of events. He also dismissed the idea of Salman being involved in harming animals, highlighting his son’s compassionate nature. “He doesn’t have the habit of killing animals. He loves them,” said Salim, even stating that Salman “doesn’t even kill cockroaches.”
The blackbuck poaching case dates back to 1998, during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Salman Khan, along with co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, and Tabu, was accused of hunting endangered blackbucks in Rajasthan.
Since then, the case has become a legal battle, with Salman facing both acquittals and convictions over the years. However, the case has now reignited with Bishnoi’s gang, demanding that Salman apologise for his alleged involvement.
Salim Khan On Apology Demanded From Salman Khan: ‘Kyun Maange Maafi?’
Salim Khan, however, questioned the legitimacy of this apology demand and said, “They are asking him (Salman) to apologise. Kyun maange maafi? Has he done anything wrong? Have you investigated it?”
According to Salim, apologising would imply guilt, which he firmly believes is not the case. “Saying sorry means we’ve done something wrong, and we haven’t,” he reiterated.
Salman Khan Is Being Guarded By Y+ Security Amid Threats
In response to the growing threats, Salman Khan’s security has been significantly heightened. The actor is now guarded by Y+ level security, which is provided to high-risk individuals in India.
With over 60 security personnel on the set, Salman resumed filming for his upcoming movie Sikandar and hosted episodes of Bigg Boss 18. The sets have also implemented strict entry protocols, requiring Aadhaar cards to ensure additional safety.
Salman’s security concerns intensified after the murder of NCP MLA Baba Siddique, who was a close associate of the actor. Despite these threats, Salman has shown no signs of stepping back from his work.
